Faber Castell TACK-IT.

(The reusable removable adhesive)

I have a weird way of keeping track of the various data I handle. I do it mostly by writing it down on a piece of paper. Since there are many of them to keep track of, I usually organize them on the wall in my room. The first method I used was to stick these notes on the wall. Self-adhesive notes (commonly available in yellow color, with the frequently used name: Post-it) didn't work well over some time. They tend to loose their ability to stick to the wall quickly and starts to fall of. Be aware that missing a note is disastrous. The missed note may be meant to remind you about something really important. So I opted to stick small pieces of paper with real glue, but onto a large sheet of paper than to the wall directly. This helps to avoid making too many marks appearing on the wall. (See pic 1)

The method one, lost its charm pretty soon. Then I came up with the idea of using push-pins to stick notes on to the wall. Since the wall happens to be made of concrete, not soft wood, I used a custom made notice board kind of surface to insert the push-pins easily. It was made using Thermocole, thick paper (chart paper) and glue. Till recently, I was using this so well. (see pic 2). Besides the difficulties in initial setting up, this method provided great ease of use.

Recently, I came across a new product in the office-stationary section in a super market. (see pic 3). This material can be easily kneaded like craft-work-clay and be used to stick papers onto most of the common surfaces.

After few trials on similar surfaces, I verified that it won't leave any visible marks on the wall. Besides buying a packet of this, there is no intricate setting up to be done. The notes can be easily removed and adhesive can be reused. By making into large globules, they can be even used to stick heavy objects, like a calender, greeting cards, few xerox-ed pages, collector's items etc... Now my wall appear nice with all notes well organized, with ease. (see pic 4).

Moreover, if you have some guests visiting and your Dad insists you to make your room REAL clean, not just guy's clean, it takes only few minutes. All you need in order to remove TACK-IT is to simply roll it off the surface. Any remaining pieces can be removed by dabbing ball of TACK-IT over the area. Removed TACK-IT can be reused.

steps for sticking the notes:

Knead TACK-IT and press it against the wall.

Now place the note above it and press over the paper.

The note stays there ..
